Here's what I see over and over with high school and college hitters:

Some kids have a swing that needs real work. They've been given 15 different cues by 15 different coaches and their mechanics are a mess. That's fixable — but only if someone takes the time to strip it down and rebuild it with a real system.

Other kids have a great swing. They look like a different hitter in the cage. Then the game starts and they can't do it when it counts. That's not a swing problem — that's a mental game problem, an approach problem, a performance problem. And almost nobody coaches it.

Most of the hitters I work with? It's both.

The swing needs cleaning up AND nobody's ever taught them how to actually compete in an at-bat. How to handle an 0-for-2 start. How to make adjustments between pitches. How to trust their hands when the game speeds up.

That's because most hitting coaches only coach one thing: the swing. Tee work. Soft toss. Cage sessions. And that's fine — as far as it goes.

But I didn't spend 25 years in the SEC, Pac-12, and MLB just teaching guys how to swing. I taught them how to HIT. The mechanics AND the mental game. The cage work AND what happens when the lights come on.

Your athlete's first session is a 45-minute 1:1 call with Coach Lisle. But we're not just looking at the swing.

We assess the COMPLETE hitter:

mechanics, approach, mental game, how they handle adversity, what their process looks like from the on-deck circle to the batter's box, and what happens after a bad at-bat.

Most coaches look at a swing video and give you three cues. I look at the whole picture and tell you exactly what's costing your kid the most — whether that's mechanical, mental, or both.

STEP 2: BUILD

MECHANICS + MINDSET

Custom programming for YOUR hitter. If the swing needs work, we fix it — same progression I used with SEC and MLB hitters. Spacing, separation, direction, posture, force application.

But we're also building the mental framework: pre-at-bat routines, breathing and reset techniques, how to approach different counts, how to hunt pitches, how to trust your hands when the game speeds up.

The mechanical work makes the swing better. The mental work makes the HITTER better. Most programs only do one. Built Different does both.

STEP 3: COMPETE PERFORM WHEN IT MATTERS
